I Survived

Somehow, I made it through my first day back at the office. I managed to do it without crying. It wasn't even as bad as I thought it would be. Though it was strange. We moved offices while I was out on leave, so I spent most of my day learning where things are and how things work (don't get me started on my new phone). All in all, not so bad.

But the highlight of my day was definitely pick up time from daycare. Ziggy is staying at an in home daycare run by a very nice woman recommended to us by a friend. She was holding him when she answered the door and his little eyes lit up and he smiled when he saw me! My heart melted. I can't believe he's old enough to smile on purpose and that he does it for me.

Just a gratuitous shot of him visiting my office 2 weeks ago.

I'm glad the first day went well, for him & you. It gets easier, in that you get used to it, but you'll probably find that you value your time with him so much now that you don't get it 24/7...

I'm so glad it wasn't too traumatic. And you definitely got to end the day on a good note!
