My New Love

| | Comments (1)

At the end of last year I went on a finishing kick and got a lot of UFOs out of my stash. I was down to 1 or 2 projects on the needles and was quite proud of myself. This year, however, the knitting ADD has returned. I've got 7 or so things going at once again. I won't bore you with all the details, but take a peak at my sidebar if you want to see the whole list.

While shopping for my SP last week (I'm doing the Knitty SP game again) I was sold on buying some Artyarns Supermerino for a sweater for Ziggy. They had a wonderful green and the super nice woman at the store kept saying what a great yarn it was for kids, so I decided to try it. I'm so happy I did. One of the myriad of new projects I've recently cast on is a simple rolled edge raglan in the round using this yarn and I'm in love. So the Artyarns is my new love. It is the perfect kid yarn. It's machine washable and soft and feels very sturdy to the touch. Working with it I feel like it's making the kind of sweater that can be worn and washed over and over without it aging or falling apart. Clearly only time will tell, but I'm very optimistic. Check out the pretty color I bought.

On the FO front, at long last I can show a picture of the mystery gift that's been lingering for so long. It was the Brea Bag pattern from Berroco. It was supposed to be for Jen's birthday, but the handles were backordered. So it became a Christmas present. But, being me, I was a bit late in finishing it, as I had to sew in the lining too. Of course, I forgot to take a picture of said lining, but here's the bag at least.

To once again end with some kitty cuteness, I give you both my kitties. You can see they've taken a liking to Ziggy's crib, and his toys. Fish will not stop kneading the teddy bear I made Zig and Nala seems to have taken a liking to the fabulous Hobbes that Jen made for Zig.

I've seen the Brea Bag in person, and it is gorgeous! And glad to see that the kitties are "breaking in" Ziggy's bed for him. I guess, from their point of view, it's a baby bed, and they are your babies, so what's the problem?
