The Perpetual Traveller
You may have noticed that I have once again gone missing from the blogosphere. This is due to the fact that I have been living out of my suitcase for the last two weeks. I was in McAllen, TX (gateway to scenic Reynosa, Mexico) from Tues-Thurs of last week. No sooner did I get home than I had to pack another bag and head out to Seattle on Friday for a weekend with Ryan and Sara.
Grant and I had a wonderful time up in Seattle. They took us to scenic Snoqualmie Falls (I'm sure that's not spelled right) and we got to see 3 peregrine falcon babies nesting. Afterwards we had fantastic milkshakes and curly fries. Our Saturday night was spent having a fantastic seafood dinner (Copper River Salmon is in season) and a showing of Les Mis. Sunday was relatively quiet and then we flew home.
Wednesday of this week found me on yet another airplane. This time I was heading south for my nephew's graduation. I flew down to see Josh graduate from high school. I was incredibly proud of my little Boo - who is now rather grown up and no longer goes by Boo. But he'll always be Boo in my heart. He's off to the local JC this fall to start working on his general education requirements while he decides what he wants to major in on his road to being a teacher. Did I mention how proud I am of him? Seriously, it's amazing to see a tiny little person you cared for turn into a wonderful grown person right before your eyes.
Thursday morning it was back to the airport for the ride home and the trip to work. Today finds me with my car packed up and ready to head to So Cal yet again, this time with Grant in tow. Tomorrow is my 10 year high school reunion. Well, technically my 11 year reunion, as the committee couldn't get it together in time and so it will be a combined 95/96 reunion. And even more technically it's been 12 years since I was last in high school as I went ahead and skipped out on my senior year to start college early. I was so on the fence about whether or not I should even bother going that I didn't buy my tickets until yesterday. But I finally decided there were one or two folks I'd like to catch up with, so I might as well.
But don't think my travel is over any time soon. Thursday will find me on an airplane to Boston to attend the wedding of a very good friend of ours that left the Bay Area to move to Boston several years ago. I'm very excited as I've never been to Boston and I haven't seen Geoff in quite a while. The hotel where they are having the reception is where we are staying and it looks just lovely. I'm also looking forward to meeting the bride. Geoff has wonderful things to say about her, but we've never met.
After that I get a weekend at home. But then, the best travel of all comes the next weekend - Tahoe! One full week relaxing in the glory and wonder that is a Lake Tahoe summer vacation. Pool floats, BBQs, campfires and nothing to do but hang out with good friends. There's nothing quite like it!
Yummy yummy Tahoe, here I come!
Yeah Tahoe! I am so ready!
